Luis Atienza



More than 18 years of experience in the energy sector. Member of the Spanish Government Experts Commission for the Energy Transition. He was executive chairman at Red Eléctrica de España for 8 years, where he also chaired the Boards of Transportadora de Electricidad (Bolivia) & Red Eléctrica del Sur (Perú). He was president of VLPGO (Very Large Power Grid Operators), and Board member at REN (Portugal).

In the energy sector he formerly was Energy Secretary (Spain) and board member at CLH, ING and EVE, chaired the IDEA and CIEMAT. He was previously Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (Spain). Formerly he was Minister of Economy at the Bask Government and before that he worked for the European Parliament.

He has been professor of Economics at Deusto University and is member of the Board at Deusto Business School and AENOR.

Graduate in Business Administration by Deusto Univ. and DEA in Development Economics and Diplome d’Etudes Superieurs Européeans by Nancy Univ. (France).

Patxi Fernández



More than 20 years of experience managing companies and sponsoring start-ups (mainly high growth and internationalization projects) in the energy sector.

Founding partner of Soluciones y Servicios Energéticos (3S) where he was also General Manager. Founder and Honorary Chairman of the Spanish Energy Efficiency and Energy Services Association (A3e). Previously he worked for private equity managers Axis and Corporación Can. Before that he was MD for the Agro-Energy business branch at Guascor, one of the world’s leaders in renewable energies and CEO at Acasting (Recyde Group) in the automotive sector. Started his career as consultant and auditor at Arthur Andersen in the energy, manufacturing and banking practices.

Graduate at Mathematical-Economy by the Bask Country University and MBA by the Polythecnic University of Valencia.

Fernando Arias



More than 14 years of experience in growth capital fund management with particular emphasis on internationalization processes between Europe and Latin-America.

Previously worked at Tagua Capital SGECR, co-leading the fundraising effort and the portfolio management in the energy and technology sectors in Spain and Latin-America. Before that the was Investment Director at Valanza Capital Riesgo SGECR managing portfolio companies in the engineering, retail, healthcare and hospitality sectors. Previously he was Country Manager for Spain at Enbridge Inc (one of the world’s leading energy infrastructure managers). Started his career as investment banker working for Deutsche Bank (where he led the energy practice for Iberia), Bankers Trust and Arthur Andersen Corporate Finance in Madrid & London.

Graduate in Business Administration and Law by the Pontificia de Comillas University, (ICADE).


María Garayo



More than 20 years of experience in legal and financial advisory to the public sector in infrastructure projects (transport and environmental mainly) and multi-sectorial internationalization projects between Europe and Latin-America in the private sector (advised among others: Corporación Mondragón, Transdev, Quicksilver Europe and Velatia).

Impact investing expert, will supervise the GP processes and targets in this area.

Representative for Europe for Petroplast Group (hydro infrastructures and energy). Managing Partner at consultancy firm LBR International Strategies. Board Member at Grupo Acha Movilidad Inversiones. Formerly Director at Eurodefi España and member of the European Board of Eurodefi GEIE (European Platform of Company Advisors). Started her career as a consultant (European Projects) at consultancy firm IBK.

Law Graduate and Master in European Law by País Vasco University and Louvain University.

Eric Bergasa



15 years of experience in internationalization and business development projects between Europe and Latin-America.

Formerly Partner at Tagua Capital SGECR and Managing Director at Itzaya for 10 years, advising companies in their strategy and business development projects in Latin-America. Started his career at Analistas Financieros Internacionales (AFI) as a consultant on strategic industrial development for public administration and market analyst in Spain and Latin-America.

Graduate in Economy and Master’s Degree in Sustainable Growth by Carlos III University, Masters in Banking and Finance by the Applied Finances School in Spain.

Ivonne Bell



26 years of experience in internationalization and finance between Spain and Latin-America. Broad experience in business development and international project management.

Formerly Managing Director at Enertrón Energía y Generación Chile for 8 year, where she led the business development, construction, finance and energy sale departments. Before that she was a Director at consultancy firm Desarrollo de Comercio Chile for 6 years, heading bilateral projects between several provinces in Spain and Latin-American Regions. Before that, she was Purchasing Manager at Foster Wheeler for 7 years, where she managed the supply contract of Central Termoeléctrica Patache (150 MW) for ENDESA.

Certified Accountant and Auditor by the Tecnológica Metropolitana University of Chile, and Graduate in Market and Energy Regulation by the University of Santiago de Chile.


Francisco Rey



More than 25 years of international experience in private equity and investment banking.

Since 2016 he manages SeaRey, a private investment firm. In addition, he is currently vice president of the SOCIMI Adriano Care (chairing his audit commission), and performs advisory duties at Wells Fargo International (where he chairs the risk commission), and MytripleA Finance, where he collaborates in strategy and financing.

Previously he spent more than twenty years in New York and London, fifteen years as investment banker at Merrill Lynch (where he became Managing Director), and the rest as Senior Partner of The Blackstone Group.

Upon his return to Spain, he was responsible for global investment banking at BBVA for five years.

He holds a degree in economics from the Commercial University of Deusto and has an MBA from Columbia University.
